I’m Sofía Alvarez Salas, a Peruvian–Spanish filmmaker, film critic, and cultural project manager based in Amsterdam.
I am an active member of FIPRESCI and APRECI, and have served as jury at the Berlinale Forum, Brussels International Film Festival, Lima Film Festival, and others. My criticism has been published in FIPRESCI, Fanfare, El Diario de Almería, and Cinencuentro, covering major festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, and Lima.
As a filmmaker, my short films (El Último Viaje, Gardemia, Sileno) have been awarded and selected internationally, and I am currently developing my feature documentary The Act of Forgetting. Alongside filmmaking and criticism, I bring experience in cultural production, project management, and festival engagement.
